Vencru Inc. (together with our affiliates and subsidiaries, including Vencru Nigeria Ltd, and any future affiliates or subsidiaries, “Vencru”, “us”, “we”, “our” and terms of similar meaning) operate the www.vencru.com website and Vencru’s web-based and mobile application (the “Service”). 

This Privacy Policy describes Vencru’s policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of the information we collect from and about you when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.  

By accepting the Privacy Policy in registration or by visiting and using this website, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. 

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information per this policy. 

We may modify and update this Privacy Policy at any time without any prior notice to you and will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Platform and your continued access or use of the Service after such time will constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. Where we decide the purpose or means for which personal data you supply through these Services is processed, we are the “controller”. We will comply with all applicable data protection laws, including Privacy and Data Protection Laws in Canada, such as the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service.

Vencru collects a variety of information that you provide directly to us. We process your information when necessary to provide you with the Services that you have requested when accepting our Terms of Service, or where we have obtained your prior consent, or where we have a legitimate interest to do so. For example, we may have a legitimate interest to process your information for security, testing, maintenance, and enhancement purposes of the Services we provide to you, or for analytics, research, and reporting purposes. Without your information, we cannot provide you with the Services you have requested or you may be limited in your use of the Services.

  • Third Parties: We may obtain certain information about You from third parties, including Personal Information. Please note: Vencru is not responsible for the privacy and security practices and policies of such third parties. 

Use of Data:  

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address/log files), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. 

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Our legal basis for Processing 

Vencru’s legal basis for processing your information largely depends on the nature of the information and the context in which we collected or processed it. We will normally only collect and process your information where:

  • We need to fulfill our responsibilities and obligations in any contract or agreement with you (for example, to comply with our services agreements); 
  • To comply with our legal obligations under applicable law; 
  • The processing is necessary for our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms (for example, to safeguard our services; to communicate with you; or to provide or update our services). 

Payment Information:  

If you are a user of our subscription service, we will utilize a thirdparty payment processing company to collect payment information, including your credit card number, billing address and phone number. The third-party service provider, and not Vencru, store your payment information on our behalf and would be responsible for its security. 

Information from Third-Party Integrations:  

If you choose to use third-party integrations (e.g., Paystack, Stripe, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay) through the Services or are required to do so by a Customer, such providers may allow us and our service providers to have access to and store additional information about your interaction with those services and platforms as it relates to use of the Services. If you do not wish to have this information shared, do not initiate these connections. 

Information about others: 

If you choose to use our invitation service to invite a friend to the Services, we will ask you for that person’s contact information, which may include their email address or their social network identity, and automatically send an invitation. Vencru stores the information you provide to send the invitation, to register your friend if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our invitation service.

Combined Information:  

You consent that, for the purposes discussed in this Policy, we may combine the information that we collect through the Services with information that we receive from other sources, both online and offline and use such combined information per this Policy. 

Aggregate/De-Identified Data: 

We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the Services so that such information can no longer be linked to you or your device (“Aggregate/De-Identified Information”).  

We may use Aggregate/De-Identified Information for any purpose, including without limitation for research and marketing purposes, and may also share such data with any third parties, including advertisers, promotional partners, sponsors, event promoters, and/or others. By using the Services, you consent to such use. 

Transfer and Processing of Data 

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those from your jurisdiction.

The personal information we collect is stored and/or processed where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities. Service Providers:

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. 

Analytics:  

We may use third-party Service Providers (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor and analyze the use of our Service. 

If you receive email from us, we may use certain analytics tools, such as clear GIFs to capture data such as when you open our message or click on any links or banners our email contains. This data allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our communications and marketing campaigns. 

Google Analytics:  

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any thirdparty sites or services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites or services. The collection, use, and disclosure of your personal and other information will be subject to the privacy policies of the third-party websites or services, and not this Policy. We strongly advise you to review the privacy and security policies of every site you visit and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions. 

Children’s Privacy:  

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”). 

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers. 

Retention Period Length:  

We will retain your personal information with us for 90 days to 2 years after users terminate their accounts or for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected as detailed in this Privacy Policy. We may need to retain certain information for longer periods such as record-keeping / reporting in accordance with applicable law or for other legitimate reasons like enforcement of legal rights, fraud prevention, etc. Residual anonymous information and aggregate information, neither of which identifies you (directly or indirectly), may be stored indefinitely.  

Your Rights: 

Depending on the law that applies, you may have a right to access and rectify or erase your personal data or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to the active processing of your data, ask us to share (port) your personal information to another entity, object processing, restrict processing, the right to data portability, a right to access, a right to rectification, a right to withdraw any consent you provided to us to process your data, a right to lodge a complaint with a statutory authority and such other rights as may be relevant under applicable laws. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, before the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
